Spanish and Basque studies, particularly in relation to cinema, literature, social history, and economic development
Justin Crumbaugh has taught courses on consumer culture, travel narratives, Basque political violence, and the trope of "backwardness" in Spanish modernity. His writing appears in a number of scholarly publications. He is currently preparing a book-length manuscript on the role of tourism in contemporary Spanish culture.
Before coming to Mount Holyoke, Crumbaugh was a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Pennsylvania.
