College Administration
Founded in 1837, Mount Holyoke College is led by the president of the College and a board of trustees, a diverse group of accomplished men and women, including several MHC alumnae.
Since taking office in 1996, President Joanne V. Creighton has renewed and reinvigorated the Mount Holyoke mission. Under her leadership, Mount Holyoke's reputation as one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the nation continues to flourish.
Responsibility for academics and related aspects of College life rests with Mount Holyoke's deans. Other College business is carried out by professional staff in several College offices.
Mount Holyoke takes pride in student participation in the governance of the College. Students have a strong voice in the administration through the Student Government Association and student representation on several powerful committees.
