Morgan Trujillo ‘08
Denver, Colorado

Morgan Trujillo is a double major in Religion and Greek who spent a semester abroad with Arcadia University in Athens, Greece.

I learned that I can survive in a major metropolitan city that I don’t even know the language of. I have an attitude that I can take on the world, because after living in Athens, I think New York as a city is not such a great challenge anymore and if I want to move there, I can survive.. Overall, I gained a lot of confidence and independence: buying my own groceries, cooking all meals, handling infestation of cockroaches.

When: First semester junior year

What language did you speak: English and Greek.

What did you study: Ancient Greek Sanctuaries, From Christ to Constantine – early Christian writing, Between Heaven and Earth – Byzantine Christianity, Modern Greek, The Greek Key – independent study on modern Greek Orthodoxy, Greek and Religion from Ancient Time to Modern Time

What next: I plan to move to DC and work for the government as a foreign media translator. But for this summer, I want to go to Liechtenstein or secure a language (Russian, Arabic) internship with the state department.
