Ask a Librarian

Reference Librarians are here to help.
Whenever we're on duty, please...Ask Us!
  • In person
Come up to the Reference Desk whenever you have a question or just want some pointers in getting started on your research.
  • By 'chat'
    <litsresearch>
Our chat name is litsresearch. Look for us on AIM, ICQ, MSN or Yahoo. Add us to your Buddy List.
Chat is staffed whenever we're on duty, but walk-in patrons have priority.
Use the webform to send us an email.
Email is checked regularly during our staffed hours.
  • By phone
Call the Reference Desk at 413-538-2212 (x2212)
For more involved help or instruction:
Set up an appointment to meet with a Librarian for more involved one-on-one time. Appointments typically take a few days to schedule, but half-hour, 'same day' appointments can be made for 6:00 or 6:30pm Monday-Thursday.
For faculty (or student groups), arrange a time for a Librarian to meet with your class and provide tailored instruction.
