Journal Indexes and Databases
- RILM Abstracts of Music Literature (MHC Only)
An index to citations, with abstracts, on international music literature. It offers citations from over 300 sources in 202 languages, including original language titles with title translations and abstracts in English; full bibliographic information; author, journal and in-depth subject indexes. The database contains all formats of scholarly works--articles, books, bibliographies, catalogs, dissertations, films and videos, conference proceedings and lists concert reviews, recording notes, and pedagogical manuals if they are of scholarly interest. Updated monthly. Corresponds to the print index RILM (Repertoire International de Litterature Musicale), which can be found in the Pratt Music Library at call number ML 1 .R2 Ref. for the years 1967 - 1995. An index to over 600 music periodicals. Printed volumes [v.1(1949)-v.54(2002)- ] are located at MH/Pratt Reference ML118 .M84.
- JSTOR
A digital archive of backfiles (i.e., NOT current issues) of academic journals including a Music Collection (56 journals). Searchable by keyword, author, title. Use JSTOR Search screen and click Music and/or other collections for your search.
- Project Muse
A digital archive of recent issues of some academic journals. Searchable across journals by keyword, author, title, and subject through the Basic search screen. Or use the Project Muse "quick navigation" tool to select the subject Category Music and choose a specific journal to search.
Online Audio Recordings
- Classical.com's Classical Music Library (MHC Only)
A digitized collection of over 12,000 tracks of classical music recordings, fully licensed for listening online. The Classical Music Library also includes reference resources (program notes, composer biographies, chronologies, images, etc.) which are cross-referenced with the recordings. There is also the option to download recordings to your own computer or to a CD for a small fee per-track. The collection can be searched or browsed in a variety of ways and recordings can be organized into personal playlists for future listening or study.
- Naxos Music Library (MHC Only)
Very similar to Classical.com, Naxos Music Library is a collection of classical music available online. It includes the complete Naxos, Marco Polo and Dacapo catalogues of over 85,000 tracks, including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music. It also includes notes on the works being played as well as biographical information on composers or artists in Naxos's extensive database.

- CD-Sheet Music Collection (available at the Music and Dance Library)
Hundreds of printable sheet music and scores in .pdf format for flute, guitar, organ, piano, strings and voice.
- Choral Public Domain Library
Begun in December 1998, CPDL is one of the world's largest free sheet music sites. You can use CPDL to find scores, texts, translations, and information about composers.
- International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP), Petrucci Music Library
An internet-based collaborative music score library, providing tens of thousands of scores composed by thousands of composers all available for free download.
