Fall 2000

The Lawson Financial Software made it successfully through the roll into 2000, through the first year-end closing and through the first audit process.

This year's developments:

  • Extending the Westcorp Laser Check writing process from Accounts Payable into the Payroll.
  • Beginning a pilot for the use of Paymentech purchasing cards.
  • Continuing a search for Report Management and Distribution Software.

Went Live - July 1, 1999

The LITS organization has contributed staff to the implementation team in Financial Services to accomplish this goal. The first target date of July 1, 1998 was delayed a year when it became evident that the final three months could not provide a strong system's test as well as thorough training. If the audit could have been delayed, it might have been possible, but it was safer to delay the full year. When discussing a mid-year go-live date, it was ruled out because the extra work to do a mid-year conversion of data rather than starting with a new fiscal year was too time consuming for what it would gain.
