Scope and Content:
List of 29 library books taken to be read between May 1800 and Dec. 1803 with comments. Most of the works are non-fiction. Paul and Virginia by Bernardin de Saint Pierre and several satires represent the fiction read. Among the recent non-fiction are William Goldsmith's Citizen of the world, Richard Cumberland's Calvary or the death of Christ, and Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography. The last page contains a list of due dates for 1803 for the Social Library in Petersham [Massachusetts] beginning the 11th of April. The author is unknown.
