Take the Lead!
We are gearing up for our 10th Anniversary of Take the Lead! for the fall of 2009.
Take the Lead! is a long weekend designed for idealistic, action-oriented young women who want to make a difference in the world. It's about turning your ideas into action and becoming an effective agent of positive change in the world.
Which issues mean the most to you?
Are you passionate about the enviornment? Making the arts come alive? Getting involved in the political process? Addressing homophobia in high schools? Promoting animal rights? Combating racism and sexism? Learn how past participants have created Action Projects to make a real difference.
Next Steps (available January 2009)
- Have your guidance counselor, principal, headmaster, teacher, religious or community leader, or other adult mentor nominate you if you are in your sophomore year of high school.
- Start planning your Action Project. How are you going to make a difference?
- Send us your application, once you receive your acceptance letter.
- Seek out a recommendation from a teacher, a guidance counselor, a religious or community leader, or other adult mentor who knows you well. (Be sure to give them plenty of advance notice.)
- Know someone else who would benefit from a young women's leadership program? Refer a friend.
