This is my page for updates. It is (as of December 20, 1999) my newest page, because I've just updated some stuff, so I decided that I might as well start the good habit of having an updates page so that my friends don't have to go wading through everything (because I'm getting more stuff on here - no really I am - ack!) to find the new stuff.
I'll date these entries and arrange them chronologically, with the newest at the fore.
Be advised that the links in the older entries may not work or lead exactly where they say they do, though I will try to remember to go through and fix or eliminate the broken links.
Summer 2000
This summer I'm going to do a thorough revision of the page, so you may expect Many Things to Change. For example, I'm wholly eliminating several pages, including the Pratchett page and the whole Creations group.
For the Duration, everything is down; I'll put it back when I'm satisfied with it.

This morning I added one link to my Friends page and four links to news articles about Emily on that page.

I created a memorial page to my friend Emily, who died recently.
I have also started putting a standard set of links at the bottom of my pages, to make it easier to switch between the various secondary pages without going back to the home page.

I tried to add a cool .gif to my index page, but it doesn't look good against the black background, and I don't want to change that. So if you want to see the .gif, go to this link and look in the top left-hand corner. It's sort of a Pratchett-related inside joke, so if you don't get it, don't worry. (By the way, the .gif really belongs to Barry R., and yes he has given me permission to use it.)
Major changes to the Interests page! It no longer contains anything about books or other reading. I moved that over to the Authors page. There I added a couple of links, as well as one new author, Sylvia Louise Engdahl. I also figured out how to use targets, so there is one of those in the Authors page, and the rather lengthy Interests page now has them, too, for your navigating pleasure. There is also another section about my international habits, and I added bits to some already-existing sections.
I have also made minor changes to Memoirs and Friends.

I have added a page of quotations, linked from the Index page. I may link it from the Interests page in the future, but right now I can't be bothered.

I have changed around the locations of a couple of pages, including the Memoirs page, in order to fix the image links on that one (I do not understand why they weren't working before, but they work now). I think I changed all the ones that needed it, but please tell me if you find any broken links, and I'll fix them. (I must say that I will be annoyed if there are any; I went through yesterday, very deliberately and methodically, and checked all the links to make sure they were correct.)
In addition, I'm adding a little bit about horseback riding, including a couple of pictures, to the Interests page. This page is getting a lot of changes recently, but I'll soon take some white-out and markers to the Memoirs page as well.
I just now remembered to link a page on my family, which I had already created back in November, into the rest of my page. Oops!
Oh good, I've just discovered that when you copy linked text, the link stays with it when you paste it back in! That means I don't have to type in the same link over and over and subject myself to the possibility of simple typos! Whoopee! The wonders of technology. :-)

There is now a Fairy Tales page, accessible from the Interests page. It has a bit more elaboration on why I like fairy tales, myths, and legends, as well as a nearly complete list of all the books in my collection.
Also accessible from the Interests page is a more detailed list of authors and books.

Today I just got back to Mount Holyoke from break, so of course I had to start twiddling with my page already. <sigh>
I haven't done much yet, just added a link to my friend Maggie's page from the Interests page and changed a bit of the text on that page (including fixing a paragraph which I had left off in mid-sentence - I'm quite frankly ashamed of myself, but anyway it's fixed now, so you can all breathe again. :-)
And I also moved all the stuff about my friends from the Interests page to a new one about only my Friends. There are just links right now, but I think I might add pictures, except that I don't know if my friends will mind having me put pictures of them up on the web. Anyway, that page is now where it really should have been from the beginning.
Over the break I twiddled with the picture that I have on the index page (which incidentally doesn't look much like me any more; at least, my hair is cut very differently) and was planning to use it as a background for my pages. However, I think I must have installed the zip drive wrong on the computer at home, because my computer doesn't think there are any files at all on the disk. Grrrr. Well, I'll tell my dad where the file I want is and get him to email it to me, or maybe I'll just scan and twiddle it again. Anyway, a new background is forthcoming, though I think I'll stick with black for the index page, since I already have that picture on it, and the same picture as a background would be a little much.

Yesterday I put up some more essays and stuff on my Creations page, and today I added my professor's comments onto all the essays for my last English class. Now there is at least one paper for each of my years in English classes.
Recently I also added some more or less random stuff onto my Interests page.
Oh, and of course I'm just adding this page now...
I have future plans to add more papers, perhaps including French and German papers. I think I should separate out my friends from the Interests page (they don't really belong there) and find some more stuff to fill that out. But have a little patience, people; I'm really going to stop fiddling with this now and do my papers, and none of this is going to change from now until the end of January. Really. I mean it...
